Ulverston, a market town in the South Lakeland district of Cumbria, historically in Lancashire
lies a few miles south of the Lake District National Park and just north-west of Morecambe Bay, within the Furness Peninsula.

Comedian Stan Laurel
His real name was Arthur Stanley Jefferson, born in Ulverston, Cumbria.
He found his greatest success when paired with Oliver Hardy.
