2024 WDC Rally No.01 – Grove, Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire

Thursday 18th / Friday 19th April till Sunday 21st April 2024

Campsite in Bedfordshire
We had a wet start on Friday but by midday
it had cleared up so the group headed out.

To follow the Friday evening,
we gather together and socialising at the campsite pub.

 

Some walked along the canal to Leighton Buzzard
whilst others visited the National Trust property Ascot House.

They have some afternoon cakes and hot drinks at Ascot House

The evening was spent in the local pub
which gave all a chance to catch up with each other.

Saturday
On Saturday we went to see where the Great Train Robbery took place.
It was an interesting 4 mile round trip walk.

Great Train Robbery (1963)
The Great Train Robbery was the robbery of £2.61 million,
from a Royal Mail train heading from Glasgow to London
on the West Coast Main Line in the early hours of
8 August 1963 at this Bridego Railway Bridge.
