Nearby a town – Huntingdon
This street in Huntingdon was given
by its town charter by King John in 1205.

Oliver Cromwell was born this town in 1599, and
become one of its Members of Parliament (MP) in 1628.
This building was Oliver’s Cromwell attended for a school.
o

Oliver’s school was becoming a Cromwell Museum
to display the home to the best collection of items
relating to life and times of Oliver Cromwell.
We also see their tell the story of Cromwell’s military career,
and have several of his swords displayed alongside
other weapons, arms and armour of the English Civil War.

Circular Walk

Unspoiled the summer meadows
with wonderful views across to Houghton Mill.

Hydration Breaks, those dogs belong
to Shaun feeding its watering.

At the Houghton Mill is a water-mill located on the Great Ouse,
there provided the drinks and food from the National Trust’s Café,
where we took our lunches and of course chatted.

Inside the Houghton Mill, the National Trust put a new millstones,
and flour is still being milled as a tourist attraction.

Godmanchester Town

This town is separated from Huntingdon, about one mile to the north
by the valley of River Great Ouse with a roman road network.

Godmanchester Chinese Bridge
It is a Grade II listed building and landmark of the town of Godmanchester.
The original was constructed in 1827, but the wooden span fell into a bad condition
and was replaced with a replica by the local council in 1960, then again replica in 2010.
Why it called Chinses Bridge – They used some wooden made of Chinese Chippendale.

A short walk took us to the local pub~
called The Black Bull, and played with a Euro 2024 Quiz.
It was so pleasure quiz that we tried to remember recently the 2024 Euro Football Tournament
but we did forgot something that we can’t remember – so hilarious night!
